I remember that old saying about “he’s been around the block” or “don’t try to fool<\/strong> me I have been around the block”. Well when I was younger I thought that refered to the fact<\/strong> that they knew all that stuff already or one<\/strong> of those “been there – done that” type things.
\nNow, as I pass<\/strong> through middle<\/strong> age<\/strong> I am starting to wonder if maybe it meant “they can’t remember why they started around the block… or worse yet, they can’t remember which house<\/strong> is theirs?
\nI think having been “around the block” just wears most of us out. I know I am wearing down but I can still remember those things that allow me to profess, ” I have been around the block”.
\nAt some point<\/strong> in the future I will wish I had not been “around the block” so many times. In fact<\/strong> I am already at that point<\/strong>. It may also be possible that I will wonder “what is a block” and why was I going<\/strong> around it? I just don’t want to lose site<\/strong> of the fact<\/strong> where home is and I need to be getting there pretty soon.
