Travel\u2026."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am sure I have expounded about my \u201cdislike\u201d for airline travel multiple times.&#160; I have another <strong>one<\/strong> of those great experiences today\u2026 A <strong>day<\/strong> when I should be home with family.&#160; Although I didn\u2019t need to stay around much longer today as it was costing me dollars per <strong>minute<\/strong> today.&#160; The Cell phone crap has to change\u2026 but that is another story for another <strong>day<\/strong>\u2026<\/p>\n<p>I did get to the <strong>airport<\/strong> well ahead of the needed <strong>time<\/strong>\u2026 I was feeling a little \u2026 less than wonderful so had an ice-cream from the inside <strong>airport<\/strong> Sonic\u2026 they can\u2019t screw that up too much\u2026 I then went to <strong>set<\/strong> out the wait at my gate\u2026 of course the <strong>one<\/strong> at the farthest end of the terminal\u2026 but OKC terminal is not too big so It is not a real big problem\u2026 I am there with maybe 35 others and <strong>people<\/strong> keep showing up\u2026 then the gate <strong>people<\/strong> show and promptly say the <strong>flight<\/strong> is over booked and would someone have \u201cflexible\u201d plans and consider delaying their travel for a fee?&#160; Those fees are a joke as they are only coupons for future travel costs and must be used in a short period of <strong>time<\/strong>\u2026 Then they come <strong>right<\/strong> back and announce that the <strong>flight<\/strong> will be delayed\u2026 we know that as there is no <strong>plane<\/strong> here to take us away\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>At this point there is a mad rush of <strong>people<\/strong> to stand in <strong>line<\/strong> to whine, complain and generally hassle the poor <strong>people<\/strong> that have no input on why it is late, or even how they can correct it until they get orders from \u2026. \u201cabove\u201d\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>The <strong>line<\/strong> was maybe 40 deep then all of a sudden it was way bigger\u2026 <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/2012-05-13-15.53.36.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"2012-05-13 15.53.36\" border=\"0\" alt=\"2012-05-13 15.53.36\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/2012-05-13-15.53.36_thumb.jpg?resize=520%2C391\" width=\"520\" height=\"391\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>maybe 5 or 6 in <strong>front<\/strong> of this and probably 10 behind what I could get in the <strong>picture<\/strong>\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>I saw that they opened a <strong>line<\/strong> on further down the terminal so I went down there with only 6 <strong>people<\/strong> in <strong>front<\/strong> of me and with in 40 minutes I got to the <strong>front<\/strong>\u2026 found out the times of the pending <strong>flight<\/strong>\u2026 figured I would be cutting my <strong>connection<\/strong> beyond reasonable so had them move my <strong>connection<\/strong> back an hour\u2026 good thing as we got in just after the <strong>connection<\/strong> left anyway\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>I got back and sat down and the <strong>guy<\/strong> in the blue short (big fella) was just getting to the <strong>front<\/strong>\u2026 During all this I noticed a <strong>guy<\/strong> that was really raising heck with the pilots that had not way of fixing the fact that the <strong>plane<\/strong> they were to <strong>fly<\/strong> and had come to pilot was not there\u2026 Of course he was <strong>one<\/strong> of those less than nice zero U fans\u2026 not all are like that but his <strong>guy<\/strong>\u2026 was the general obnoxious type\u2026 I did get a <strong>picture<\/strong> of him in Dallas still wanting to chew on someone as he stopped at another counter\u2026I know he was <strong>OU<\/strong> as he wore an Zero shirt under the other stuff\u2026 great combination though\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/SAM_1602.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"SAM_1602\" border=\"0\" alt=\"SAM_1602\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/SAM_1602_thumb.jpg?resize=379%2C475\" width=\"379\" height=\"475\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t have long to wait here as my changed <strong>flight<\/strong> was leaving soon so made my way down to the gate and stood for a few minutes then loaded\u2026 while on the <strong>plane<\/strong> I noticed a red light come on and stuff came falling out of a shut\u2026 if you have gate checked stuff\u2026 don\u2019t <strong>make<\/strong> it your best stuff \u2026 <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/SAM_1607.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"SAM_1607\" border=\"0\" alt=\"SAM_1607\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/SAM_1607_thumb.jpg?resize=484%2C364\" width=\"484\" height=\"364\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Finally someone came over and looked them got a cart to move it over to another <strong>plane<\/strong> on the other side\u2026 just a few more and they would have been out in the roadway for those carts flying by\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>I did <strong>make<\/strong> it to destination and did get into a hotel\u2026 thought I was lost but turned out I guessed <strong>right<\/strong> twice and made it with out much delay\u2026 checked in and they said \u201cwe have upgraded you to a suite,&#160; You don\u2019t mind having a big table in there?\u201d&#160; I thought, an upgrade, sure, that sounds nice\u2026 turns out it was not much of an upgrade\u2026 but I did get a big table\u2026 the board room table\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/SAM_1609.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"SAM_1609\" border=\"0\" alt=\"SAM_1609\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/SAM_1609_thumb.jpg?resize=483%2C363\" width=\"483\" height=\"363\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>What next?&#160; I guess this is a
