I read a rather long letter<\/strong> weekly by John Mauldin \u2013 Thoughts from the Front Line.<\/a>   He is a good writer and covers economics on a large scale.  His recent post<\/strong> gives his idea<\/strong> of what our politicians<\/strong> and more correctly the President, need<\/strong> to focus on for our economy<\/strong> to survive the coming \u201cdebt<\/strong> crisis\u201d.  As with those  preceding us (Greece<\/strong>, Italy<\/strong>, Spain<\/strong>,  Japan<\/strong>, etc.) you can not live on spending more than you take in for very long. <\/p>\n

In his recent post<\/strong> I found this statement<\/strong> very \u201cto the point<\/strong>\u201d.  No matter<\/strong> what you strive to do, in order<\/strong> to do it well you must do it a lot<\/strong> and with enthusiasm.  You can never get good at anything<\/strong> by wishing it were so or by taking a class and not practicing.  This statement<\/strong> was really to the point<\/strong>: :  As Malcolm Gladwell says in The Tipping Point,<\/i> practice<\/strong> something for 10,000 hours, whether it’s playing music<\/strong> (as the Beatles did) or writing software<\/strong> (as any number of successful entrepreneurs did, long before they became rich and famous), and you can get good. Rarely can you just get lucky. That is not the real world. As the saying goes, the harder you work the luckier you get.\u201d<\/p>\n

I think we have all gotten a bit<\/strong> too \u201cexpecting\u201d.  We have become a generation or two or even three that \u201cexpects\u201d instant gratification.  The recent advancements in technology<\/strong> and many other functions has made us all think it can happen with out input.  The reality is, for what ever you desire<\/strong>, and what ever you collect, you do have to pay<\/strong> for it at some point<\/strong>.  the point<\/strong> is to pay<\/strong> early and not be saddled with a debt<\/strong> you can not control<\/strong> later as it grows beyond your means.   – WD0AJG<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
