The day wasn’t too bad until the end. Spent much of the day working on the reports. I did get out a couple of times but not for anything exciting… Out for lunch at the local traveling
Viva La Waffle wagon…
I had a special lf the day… turkey with mozzarella cheese and spinach and artichoke heart sauce… boy it was a lot and stupid me… I also had the waffle fries that are sprinkled with butter and garlic… didn’t get through half of it..
I know it looks nasty but was pretty good.
They also serve up a local pop and some huge special iced teas…
Being in Louisiana…. “Swamp pop”… I had the tea… well about half of it and it was the Green tea…
Now that is something unusual for lunch…
At the end of the day I was going to head to the Blue Dog to meet up with the other guys… I had eaten there before about 2 years ago and it was really good… I was looking forward to it too…
but I decided to go check the hotel serving just in case and left my keys and all but my phone in the room… walked out at 5:45 to go check the serving and when I walked back… the electronic key didn’t work? hum…. so I went to the desk to get another one, much of gotten too close to the phone… got one , went back and … still didn’t work… and no red or green light either? hum again… went back to the front and explained the problem and they got the local ? on duty manager to go check and sure enough it was dead and her little device didn’t work either… they had to call a lock smith to break in…
That took them about 3 hours to get a smithy over and get it open… so they could replace the battery… so I didn’t make it to the Blue Dog… I did get to eat there as the manager bought me dinner while I waited , but it was not the same… still good food but setting in the lobby eating is not quit the same as the restaurant or in your own room for that matter… when I finished eating they still were working on the door so I got in a 40 minute walk to work down all that stuff I ate today and as I finished up they got the door open… good thing I didn’t have a deadline on any of the work I had going… or I wouldn’t be typing this… still real aggravating… on top of the fact when I checked in they welcomed me as a “platinum” member and told me I got an upgrade… yea sure… the handicap room that only has half the furniture, a queen bed and not the king I had before, a bathroom that has a tub instead of a shower and the tub has a bench on the back end that is in the way if you want to shower… along with the fact that all the counters are about waste level so you have to stoop to pick up the soap, the toothbrush and everything else… oh well… it happens but WHY ME?… This about the 5th time in 2 years I have gotten the wheel chair room? guess I look like I should be in a wheel chair.
