I think I am one of the most trained people in our business… Even though I do not work in all these environments I have to visit a lot of them so I have to take the training that everyone takes , just to visit…
Case in point, my current trip to Thailand will lead to an offshore visit, we hope. To do that I have to take the basic helicopter and offshore safety course. A 3 day ordeal of survival in not so nice conditions… although the training is done in ok conditions.
The simulator… 4 seats and you have to strap in wearing special life preservers and the yellow suits in the distant…
The simulator goes in the water and can be nearly submerged, fully submerged and upside-down… it took 8 versions to get through it all as we have to knock out windows, open doors, etc.…
Another group just bailed out… and they went upside down…
This is how you load then they pull it up, everyone has to buckle in and prepare, do all the instruction and down it goes… It ceased to be fun after the 2nd trip and you get water up your nose.
At the training center we have been out checking the surrounding a little… the big pond is full of mudskippers and the ditch behind has several dragons (Damn big lizards in the water)… I haven’t gotten a picture of that yet, have seen them but pictures not good..
mudskippers are damn ugly, most are small but this one was pretty good size…
In the area I can see some things but they are a ways off…
And of course there are flowers… and a banana tree.
Being in class most of the day and not able to get out much we don’t see anything other than the school things… maybe tomorrow?
