Yes, I do have to make field trips, nothing like when we were in school… those were fun because you got out of doing school work… sort of. These are work as we go out to see how it is done, and write reports on what we find. So we ventured off about 4 hours from the hotel… spent about 4 hours there and then back… damn long day and the roads are not the best and this place has more speed bumps than I have ever seen… even the main highways seem to have speed bumps all over… I think they are to help slow people down for those that peddle something on the side of the road? not sure
I know it is blurred, try to get pictures at 45kph and through a very darkened window…
I got this one because of a speed bump… we had to slow down… ha!
Speaking of dark windows… everyone here puts in dark film so no one can see in… so they can’t see you and you can’t see them…
On the road out we were on one that was “DIVIDED”… maybe not as big as our toll roads but they put a big divider in the middle..
It is maybe a 4 lane here but I have seen places where there were 3 per side… just depends…
We traveled close to some Mountains… interesting…
We got closer but the clouds had moved in and the pictures were rally bad then…
No matter how small the house… most had TV and many had Sat TV…
During the trip it was noticed that a lot of the time they were setting outside… noticed some playing cards and maybe dominos… and other games..
I think it is the main pass time of the weekend and maybe every day… nearly every house had a card table or two and multiple plastic chairs outside…
Family Transportation!
Gas it really cheap here… maybe under 10cents a gallon… maybe that is how they keep people from stealing the oil or gas… but we were told that cars are very expensive… maybe 2 to 3 times at home… so I guess the next best alternative is the motorcycle… Not so far off from when my Dad was young… that is all he and mom had the first 3 years… although it was a bit bigger than this one…
He would let me have one… or rather I couldn’t afford one…
While on vintage stuff… saw this old car on the side as we passed… I know blurred agn..
One of the guys yelled “Bat-Mobile”… still neat to see..
As I said before, all we seem to have done is eat… and I think it has messed me up… first can’t go then can’t stop? not much fun doing that… but oh well… travel messes me up anymore.
On the way back we had to stop agn to eat some special food… the sweet corn pancake was good the cheese ???? and the fired pork was decent…
The white stuff is not really crème but more like string cheese…
The boiled, fried and refried pork…
While enjoying this extra meal… spotted this coming… got the first picture and was too stunned or something? to get the other direction…
Once it passed… the whole family was still in the Bronco!…
The place we stopped also had pottery stuff for sale… sure liked the bells but no way to get it home…
That was about it for the field trip… today was a “chock” rest day… we stayed that the hotel… met up at 9:30 in the business center , found they had a big screen on the wall and we all set up and worked on the audit report… even ordered in… but this time it was a burger… Venezuelan style… hamburger, bacon, ham, and fried egg… was too bad but agn… way more than I needed… we had hoped for the subway next door as it is the only alternative here… but seems it is closed… not sure at this point what we will do for supper… maybe I should do nothing?
