I have been totally forgetful or totally “wasted” in my keeping up here.
First the long trip home – that is wearing me out more and more – I hate flying anymore. Used to like to travel but now it just makes my butt tired (along with the rest of me). In fact my butt is so sore that it has not smoothed out in the past 6 months… how can they make those airline seats so damn hard? They have a pad in them but even the metal seats at the airport are better than the ones on the plane? Besides all that – they tell you to use the seat cushion as a ‘flotation device” – should they have a water landing… The ones I set on don’t have enough floatation left in them to hold up a very small child… besides that if you have ever looked at pictures (from the news) after airline crashes in the water – what is floating… it sure aint those damn seat cushions!…
Anyway, I was wasted from travel, then it was hurry up and get things around – finish up a few little chores and the big game… What a way to start the season – take down a perineal SEC power player – but that was hot in the new stadium as well – closing in the west is great for seating, experience etc… but bad for the old “breeze” we used to get from that end… oh well – and then it was a 3 day weekend with all the family in and some new toys for me to play with so I have been real busy – not being busy on this page… sorry for that…
On the toys – the new computer is in for the ham-shack and works great – Sean did great on that – now if I could just get all the software to work for the ham stuff? I still have numerous projects to work on – once the weekend festivities were over, I jumped on the motor home repair… got the battery tray slides replaced and will be getting the batteries back in with the watering system so they don’t have to be pulled out every time to check… I have also ordered a Oregon Scientific weather station and hope to have it and the APRS station up by late next week?
I was checking on getting a wood pole set for a tower but that may not happen as the guy I had contacted can not set anything more than 35ft poles which is not enough – I am 30 ft now off the roof with a 10 ft pole, so the 35 (burried 8ft) will not get me anything I don’t already have… so I may look at a 20ft pipe on the roof? It would be cheaper at the beginning…
So I have been busy and just haven’t given this page much thought… maybe I will get evened out soon and get some things put down..and some pictures put in…
